Become a Direct Support Professional in a role where you can plan and lead out with activities like bowling, shopping, animal encounters of various kinds, volunteering at local nonprofits, trips to the museum and parks, bingo and other games, and fun crafts! Assist individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to lead self-directed lives and contribute to their communities. In a team environment, you will help coordinate and supervise activities in the DSA Program, transport individuals to activities, assist with mandatory documentation, and provide personal care as needed. This is a part-time, Monday through Friday position.
Able to work with limited supervision, displaying positivity, initiative, and creativity in the workplace in a team environment. One year experience working with adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities preferred. Good written and oral communication skills. Basic computer skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have desire to work with people with disabilities. Must pass criminal history check and drug screen, including negative for all marijuana products due to federal contracts.
Must be able to team lift and care for personal needs of clients. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, twist, carry, and not have any lifting restrictions.
Part-time position includes 50% employee discount on thrift items at Sunrise Shop & Save Stores, as well as prorated holiday and personal leave pay.
