We are looking for an energetic, person-centered, detail-oriented employee who can help us expand our thrift retail offerings in Douglas County by providing outstanding customer service AND employment support for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities. This Direct Support Professional position will work as Lead Cashier, overseeing all cashier tasks and cash control, as well as stock shelves, and sort donated goods. Full-time hours may include evenings and weekends.
Minimum 1 year experience in a retail setting with proficiency in cash handling and proven, stable employment history. High School Diploma or GED. Experience working with adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Experience with Microsoft Office suite is preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have desire to work with people with disabilities. Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier. Must be able to pass criminal history check and drug screen, including negative for all marijuana products due to federal contracts.
Must be able to stand through majority of work shift; grasp, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel. Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs. routinely unassisted; 50 lbs. on occasion with assistance.
Full-time position includes medical for $50/month, 50% contribution for dental and vision, $10K life at no cost, paid holidays, paid time off, 50% employee discount on thrift items at Sunrise Shop & Save Stores.
